American Idol Follow-up / SYTYCD 100th Episode

07/06/2009

In the rubble of the American Idol finale, Kris Allen is no where to found and Adam Lambert is bursting at the seams. Meanwhile, SYTYCD is just heating up and the anticipation for the 100th episode is buzzing around the internet.

Premise: A teaser into the world of Post-Idol and Mid-SYTYCD.

krislambertArticles spreading all over the internet are bombarding Kris Allen with questions in interviews about his feelings of Adam’s booming success and publicity after the American Idol Finale. Kris, being the all around nice guy he is, only gives a sweet, positive, and supportive vibe in all of these interviews stating that he’s completely behind Adam and has no competetive energies toward him. You can still find updates about Kris, but mostly on his dedicated Fan pages and on the American Idol website.

Meanwhile, Adam has been tearing up the media scene. Immediately after American Idol, He released an official statement that he was indeed gay, and was  then suddenly seen on the front cover of Rolling Stone. You don’t get much bigger than that…Although, recent father and fellow gay, Clay Aiken once graced the cover as well, thus making that questionable. Now with the “leaked” song, ‘Want’, circulating around the internet and the threat of a release of a non-RCA record, Adam’s popularity level has rocketed onward and upward. Publicity is publicity, and Adam is full of reasons to keep his face on magazines, newspapers, blog sites, and television everywhere.

Most recently, rumors have been flying around that Lambert’s displaying some “diva” behavior on the Idol Tour leaving a bad taste in the mouths of other contestants. One statement was made that he claimed to be ”the only real singer there”, which sounds more like a bitter backlash than fact.

Not to forget that both Kris and the Glambert are doing double duty at the moment. They are simultaneously recording their upcoming albums as well as being at their best, blowing crowds away night after night. Sounds like quite the workload. No wonder the rumored lack of appearance by the two at Idol Rehearsals is being blasted over morning talk radio. Sounds more like a tiring schedule and some serious nose to the grindstone time for the two.

sytycdAs for So You Think You Can Dance, the official 100th episode is coming up this week, and it is being advertised as being a HUGE event. With promises of former contestants returning to perform a “best of” selection of dances for the episode, Katie Holmes in her very own featured number, and intense group numbers from people all across the board of the SYTYCD family, this show could bring in it’s biggest audience yet.

Nigel Lythgoe, an apparent ‘tweet-aholic’, has been constantly updating his twitter on the events to come this week, keeping the hard core show fans on the edge of their seats for the big show. He released a statement announcing that Travis and Heidi were returning to the show to dance their famous Mia Michaels “Bench Routine” and said it was just as breathtaking and beautiful as it was the first time.

So no matter who you are, if you’re falling into an A.I. slump or riding the SYTYCD rollercoaster’s highs and lows, make sure to check out the biggest week thus far for SYTYCD and if you get the chance, buy a couple tickets to the American Idol tour to make the decision for yourself who should be grabbing all the attention.
